NAS

There will be 3 UGreen DXP2800 NAS systems. As with the Tablo, these NAS are plugged into your network within the communications room in the basement. This will assume that there is a couple, and a child or roommate. Each NAS will have an 8TB NVME storage, and a 32TB mechanical hard drive storage. I would suggest that you use the 8TB storage for a replacement of online storage solutions like DropBox. I would then use the 32TB drive as either a backup drive, or an archival storage drive. To replace the online storage solution, you would need a UGreen app on your device, or computer. Once you installed and set everything up, you would be able to sync a folder, or photos/videos taken on your mobile device and sync with the 8TB drive. This is a lot of free storage that you have access to as long as you are living in the apartment.

If you choose the use the 32TB as an archival drive, then you should be able to store hundreds of hours of 4K videos, or thousands of pictures. Keep in mind that hard drive space is expensive, and you may not have the financial resources to have a suitable replacement if you should move. However, moving out should be your choice, and unless you are damaging the property, or delinquent on your rent, I would likely not force an eviction on you. If you choose the drive as a backup solution, then I would imagine that you would be able to back up a few computers. For backup, you should have twice the storage capacity of your drive. Therefore, for an 8TB drive, you should have 16TB of backup. You have 32TB, so you could probably backup 2 or 3 higher storage machines.

You will not have administrative privileges over the NAS. You would have user permissions, and read and write, but you can not make changes to the NAS directly. This is because the NAS is not yours. Instead, like the Tablo, you have access to the system, and not own the system. This solution is thousands of dollars, and I can not replace the NAS every time a tenant moves out. Since I have administrative privileges, I will be able to format your drives in the event that you move out. Consider this as a feature of living in the apartment.
