There will be 2 elevators. There is a public elevator in the common space of the building, and an elevator for the residence. This will allow me to age in my residence even though my residence is 2 floors. The common elevator needs a key card to get to certain floors. This is for safety and security. Since elevators are likely still using RJ11 phone lines for connection, there will need to be ATA (Analog Telephone Adapters) to connect with the elevator company. It is required by law that there is a working call box.
The common elevator will serve the following floors
- Basement (key card)
- Floor 1
- Floor 1 rear (key card)
- Floor 2
- Floor 4 (key card)
Key cards required for the basement, rear of floor 1, and floor 4 is necessary for security and safety. The basement is where the laundry room (double loads machines) and utilities in is located at. There will also be storage rooms which might have valuable items. As for the floor 1 rear, there will be a hallway that would go to a garage. This needs to be locked down, and only certain access is allowed. The 4th floor will be my personal residence.
The second elevator is for the residence. It would be located within the residence’s perimeter, and can only be accessed from within the residence. The second elevator will serve floor 3, 4 and the roof. Access to the roof is required for any repairs on the antenna or solar panels.
